RennList.Com Announces Site Changes

Portsmouth, NH 03801 - 6/17/1999 – Today RennList.Com announced that its site re-design is nearly complete. Changes were made in code so certain browsers that would no longer time out on certain areas of on RennList. Also, the searching capabilities have returned and are fully functioning again.

Specific changes include.......For AOL and WebTV users - the main JAVA code has been replaced for the links and buttons. It should load faster and smoother then before, and it should not hang/time out using these browsers. Also, the Porsches for Sale Section (http://140.239.85.204/) and the Parts for Sale (http://140.239.85.204/partsindex.htm) databases should now load in a reasonable time so your browser should not time out - even on a 28.8 connection. Based on the number of new listings - it appears to now work just great.

Other improvements include the ability to search the Digests (http://140.239.85.201/search/). It features an entirely re-vamped Search engine that will show ratios to hits, parse out surrounding text in the posts it has found, and provide a summary of finds. Additionally capabilities let you browse the entire document with hot links to other hits in the same document - and allow for Free Text Queries (a question like "Why do my brakes squeal"?) You will see help and instructions on the search pages... Lastly the Digest Libraries have been updated.
