The Racers Group Ends up on the Podium

with a 2nd Place Finish...

Body:   SONOMA, Calif. - May 19, 2002 - The Racer's Group took second place in the GT   class with the No.66 Porsche GT3 RS at today's ..American Le Mans series   race, the Grand Prix of Sonoma presented by Foster's at Sears Point Raceway.   The car was driven by local ..driver and team owner Kevin Buckler of Novato,   Calif. and Marino Franchitti of Broxburn, Scotland. No. 66 was the polesitter   in the class ..with Buckler as the starting driver and Franchitti taking the   car through the finish line at the end of the two-hour, 45-minute race.

The Racer's Group, headquartered at Sears Point Raceway, fielded the No. 66   Porsche GT3 RS as well as No. 67 driven by Robert ..Orcutt and Vic Rice. The   No. 67 car experienced an incident with another car and was DNF in the second   hour of the race.

"I'm happy to finish second at my home track and in front of a hometown   crowd. My congratulations go out to both Lucas and Sascha; ..we battled close   through the entire race. The crew has done an excellent job this weekend. We   encountered some bumps and managed to ..work through all of them with great   teamwork, " Buckler said.

"I had fun out there today. It was hard driving with some of the things that   happened with the car, but we held in there. I like the car and ..hope to   race again in this series. The Michelin tires were excellent, the slicks   worked out well," stated Franchitti of his first experience at ..Sears Point   Raceway.
