About All the Commercial Posts....

Body:   It has been about four years since Rennlist/PorscheList began - and like many   of you, I too, believe it is time to bring the free "Commercial Postings"   under control. Therefore, please read the following - especially if you are   either a Commercial Vendor, or represent a Commercial Vendor within the   Rennlist e-mail lists and Forums....

Rennlist is able to remain free only through the support of Rennlist Members   and Rennlist Sponsors. We would not have our Sponsors supporting the site if   we continue to allow commercial postings by just "anyone" representing a   Commercial Vendor in the e-mail lists and forums. For this reason we have now   instated a new "no commercial postings" policy. The only exceptions, of   course, are for the supporting Rennlist Members, Private Individuals and   Sponsors that keep the site free.

Therefore, I ask that you keep in mind the following guidelines for   Commercial Vendors who seem to need to "hawk" these e-mail lists and Forums:

- You may not have commercial links in your signature to non-supporting   vendor sites (i.e. - if your business is not a "Rennlist Sponsor"). Nor may   "employees" act in behalf of a commercial vendor who is not a Sponsor, by   having their SIG include a website from a vendor who is *not* a Rennlist   Sponsor. We have a lot of Vendors who "use Rennlist" as their *free   advertising* media. The days are now "gone" where Rennlist is their *free   advertising* channel.                                    

- You may not post links to "Rennlist" products, 'deals' and "group buys"   offered by non-supporting commercial Vendors/Sponsors targeted at Rennlist   subscribers. More times then not, folks are asked to do that for the "free   advertising" that the Vendor enjoys (i.e. "scam the list").                                    

- If you receive products for free or at a special discount from a vendor   you must disclose that information when you make posts regarding that   product. Any other type of vested interest that could cause you to   potentially have a biased opinion must be disclosed.

Feel free to discuss particular products and even to ask for advice on where   to get it at the best price. If you read a post like this and want to share a   non-supporting vendor's offerings with that person, you can do so by private   e-mail. Any posts or links directing someone to a non-supporting   vendor/dealer will be deleted without warning and it is also grounds for   permanent removal from Rennlist if it occurs on a frequent basis from the   same user.

Frankly - these aren't major changes to the content and community known as   "Rennlist", with the exception of minimizing "free advertising" from those   Commercial Vendors who simply insist, and continue, on using Rennlist as   their "free marketing" channel.
