New Porsche Directory on
the Internet.....
Every once in a while, someone takes the initiative to
work long and hard on a concept - and sees that same concept
through to completion. Matt Olde (matt@type944.com) is one such
Rennlist Member, who has created, authored and has just
announced the premier Porsche Directory available within the
Internet. Take a look at Matt's announcement below - I am
confident that you will share my enthusiasm once you visit his

When Matt showed me a preview of his work
some time ago - I pledged full support from Rennlist if he was
able to bring his site into production. He has recently done
just that - and in simple terms - it is OUTSTANDING! Therefore,
it is with a great deal of excitement that I am sharing Matt's
announcement with all of you on the Rennlist e-mail
lists.

Hello Rennlisters!
You may not know me, my name is Matt Olde, Rennlist
Member - and I spend most of my time at the 924/944/968 board. I
am pleased to announce, with the support of John D., the
creation of the first complete and finest online Porsche
directory (a.k.a. registry) is now operational. P-CarOnline.com,
with the help of Rennlist, will probably become the most
comprehensive Porsche directory on the Internet and for that,
I'd like to list some of its
features:
- · Members receive a P-CarProfile page, with the
ability to upload 6 different images. · The P-CarProfile page
has a "static" url, so that members can put their URL
in the signature of forum posts or emails (i.e. http://www.p-caronline.com/directory/admin)
· Members and non-members can search by Porsche Type number,
model (turbo, S2, etc.), State, Country, multiple models in a
state, etc., etc. - there are countless ways to search for other
P-CarProfiles in the directory.
-· Member-to-member private messaging, helping to keep
your password private. · Non-member-to-member emailing via your
profile page, with revealing your email address to the
non-member (or other members) or the Internet in general (coming
soon) · Ability to manage your P-CarProfile at any time, day or
not, simply by logging into your Control Panel. · Free Web
Hosting, where you can have your own Porsche-related website
without those annoying pop-up banner ads that plague so many
free-web-space sites.
- Ability to have a message appear on your profile
"This Porsche For Sale" if you are in the process of
selling your Porsche. This feature is completely free, whereas
with other sites you will pay to list your car for sale.
A message from John D., the brains (along with Jen)
behind Rennlist.com:
-· The P-CarOnline directory will be permanently linked
from the Rennlist.com main page and ·P-CarOnline.com will
replace the current Rennlist Registries for the 914 owners,
Member Registry, 993 Registry, 944 databases, etc. since it has
many of the features that folks have been requesting are now
available through the P-CarDirectory. For example, we are
working together to assess if the 650+ Rennlist 914 database can
be brought seamlessly into P-CarOnline, where it will reside in
the future.
- The P-CarDirectory replaces and improves anything
currently available within Rennlist - and is better then any
technology currently available from any Porsche organization
within the Internet.
This, of course, is exciting for me, P-CarOnline and
Rennlist. I have been a Rennlist member for almost one year, but
a Rennlist user for much longer. I am very excited that John D.
is pledging his support for P-CarOnline.com, because my
motivation behind creating the P-CarOnline Directory was to
compliment Rennlist as best it could.
We had a "preview" opening for the folks in the
924/944/968 board the past few days, and the feedback has been
OUTSTANDING. We've had over 80 folks register their Porsches in
just 2 days.
