These lists are for primarily discussing Porsche Automobiles. That being said, Rennlist is an international community of tens of thousands subscribers and if a member has a new born, is fired, goes on vacation, or just had a wonderful drive - your fellow list members would like to know about it. These list members should be considered your friends who share a common bond - and you will find many who frequently get together under the Rennlist name on a local basis. If you are new to the list, we hope to establish this common friendship with you as well.

Only subscribers to a list can post. This helps eliminate SPAM or individuals who may send messages to the list that do not conform to the rules. See the Charter for rules about commercial posts or your goods for sale you would like to post to the lists.

Please use the Rennlist General List for topics that are not primarily technical or "model specific", or may be of interest to Porsche owners and enthusiast outside of your list. We would like to keep the specific lists focused on topics and conversations for those models.

Flaming will not be tolerated in the model specific lists. This does not mean kidding around with other members, which is encouraged (but does not include forwarding off-topic jokes to the list!). The quick flip of a one liner here and there provides regular members a laugh. Also keep in mind that the member who you might feel like Flaming also shares your interest and enthusiasm in Porsche automobiles - so treat them with the respect with which you would like to be treated.

Fraudulent (impersonating someone other then yourself), harassing (flaming) or obscene messages are not to be sent to the list. Further, no private communications can be posted publicly, without the permission of the party that send you that private e-mail/message, as these are typically used to incite Flame wars. Subscribers who post these type of messages may be immediately unsubscribed/and or banned.

Please - no digest replies! If you subscribe in Digest mode - please do not send the whole digest your reply - instead, begin a new message - and copy the "Subject" text from the post you are replying to in your response - this increases the "searchability" of the archives. We strongly recommend a subscription in "every message mode" to the list. Further, we recommend the use of filters for e-mail which automatically moves messages from Rennlist into their own folder for later viewing.

Use clear subject lines. A frustrating part of being a member of an e-mail list like Rennlist (where hundreds of messages are posted daily) is being excited to read a message based on a great subject line, only to be disappointed when you find that the message has nothing to do with the subject line. So please make the Subject line appropriate to your post as well as clear and concise.

If the ListMaster asks to stop particular Subjects/threads in the lists - we are not impinging on your "Freedom of Speech" - so please do not start with this silly excuse as your "right" to post "anything you feel like" to the list! We are asking you to post these elsewhere, perhaps somewhere on one of the thousands of other Internet forums which are more appropriate for these off-subject threads. We only ask threads be moved with specific reasons in mind. If you would like to understand why we have asked for a tread to cease, simply ask us off the list.

We want list members to be able to show messages from this list to anybody. You should be able to share any of the messages from this list to your spouse, daughter, son, mother, or father without being embarrassed by the content. The morals and ethics of life are quite well understood by most people. Therefore, imagine that you are having a conversation with one of these family members on the list when posting messages - you'll enjoy the lists more and so will the rest of the members!
Considering the real-time nature of this Mail List Server, it is impossible for Rennlist to review messages or confirm the validity of information posted. Please remember that Rennlist does not actively monitor (24 hours per day/seven days per week) the contents of and are not responsible for any messages posted.
We do not vouch for or warrant the accuracy, completeness or usefulness of any message, and are not responsible for the contents of any message. The messages express the views of the author of the message, not necessarily the views of Rennlist.
